Sony used their latest State of Play to further detail their release roadmap for the Fall season and beyond.
There was a real focus on some newly announced indie titles, new trailers and release dates attached to hotly anticipated games. Let’s take a look at the announcements from today’s video showcase, first up a sizzle reel to help get you primed!
Moss: Book II
Release Date: TBD
Platform: PlayStation VR
Quill returns as a little hero in a big adventure in the sequel to one of the most beloved PSVR games of all time. Take a look at the announcement trailer Sony showed off today that picks up right where the first game left off:
Arcadegeddon
Release Date: Out Now (Early Access)
Platform: Available on PlayStation 5 and PC
Arcadegeddon is an online co-op shooter that takes place inside an actual arcade game. Rise up and play with up to three friends in this ever-evolving cooperative multiplayer shooter. Explore multiple biomes, mini games, find hidden chests, and defeat numerous enemies and bosses.
Tribes of Midgard - Season 1: The Wolf Saga
Release Date: Coming July 27th, 2021
Platform: Available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Midgard is under siege from deadly spirits, and gigantic brutes threaten to bring on Ragnarök—the end of the world. It’s up to you, a mighty Einherjar to become the ultimate Viking and to save your village, and the world, from destruction. Gather co-op companions to join you on your divine mission to stop the Giants from bringing an end to all existence.
F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch
Release Date: September 7, 2021
Platform(s): Available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
The 2D action side-scroller is a Metroidvania action game featuring exploration, intense combat and challenging platforming. What was shown at State of Play was on PS5 hardware and looks especially dazzling with excellent particle and lighting effects.
Sifu
Release Date: TBD 2022
Platform(s): Available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Sloclap’s kung fu beat ‘em up is looking better each time we see it! The combat looks seamless and free flowing and I personally can’t wait to play it! Each time you get KO’d, dust yourself off and fight another day. The game’s release was shifted into the 2022 window, so we’ll need to wait a little longer to let the fists of fury fly.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut
Release Date: September 24, 2021
Platform(s): PlayStation 5
Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is being fully reimagined on the PlayStation 5. Based on the extended look during the State of Play it will loaded to the brim with new content and enhanced gameplay features that take advantage of the PS5 hardware.
The Director’s Cut includes more melee options, weapons, vehicles, a variety of new modes, missions and areas to explore and expanded storylines. The best part, if you already own Death Stranding you’ll be able to upgrade for only $10 USD.
